URSA’s Cub House program, designed to support children with disabilities and complex medical needs, relocated in the fall of 2021 to a larger, more accessible, and suitable HomeSpace building in Calgary. The new home has an undeveloped fenced yard that will be turned into an accessible playground and functional green space, and with the increase in indoor space, an indoor sensory space will be created.
With this past Tuesday being #GivingTuesday and today being #IDPWD2021, we’ve chosen this week to launch the fundraising campaign for this project. Funds raised will cover the costs of; landscaping, prework and installation of rubberized groundcover, purchase and installation of accessible playground equipment unique to the sensory processing needs of the children we support, seating and covered areas, furnishing and equipping the indoor sensory space and program.
