It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye and honour Doug Hauser
July 12, 1953- February 28, 2021.
Thirty-five years ago, Doug Hauser founded URSA with the belief that all people, no matter their abilities, deserve the best in life. Doug’s dream was to move people with disabilities out of institutional settings and into the community. He understood that community and inclusion were the best ways to provide support. From that belief, Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency was born.
In the years that followed, Doug continued to push for innovation and fill service gaps, with URSA continuing to grow as Calgary needed. We thank him for his years of service to URSA and all the people that have come through our doors; without his hard work, we would not have grown to be who we are. Doug may be gone, but he won’t be forgotten. Donations and well wishes will help us in continuing his dream and the organization he founded.
