Client services at URSA are thoroughly customized and adapted to meet individual needs. This is accomplished either directly through URSA or in combination with URSA and additional community resources.
Through the customization process, the objectives remain clear and defined, a fulfilling and rewarding quality of life, participation and involvement in the community. Client empowerment is URSA’s goal. We encourage clients and their families to get involved in programs, participate fully in the development of the programs and to offer feedback and evaluation regarding revisions or changes to the plan.
Before coming into URSA services, a full and detailed assessment is completed. Formal and informal assessments, daily observations, monitoring an individual in their natural environment, and consulting with the professional team regarding the individual’s needs and abilities all contribute to establishing a plan.
As everyone’s needs and requirements vary, the assessments tools are selected to fit each individual’s needs. They are continuously updated, and consideration is given to the assessment scores and feedback from every individual.
Referrals for customized programing come from a variety of sources (Human Services – Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) and Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), acute care centers, family doctor, families or guardians.)
